Cool news! I hope the mix album will be as good as “On the Floor At The Boutique” and “Beat up the NME”!

In fact it will be as good as “Fala Ai” and “Incredible Adventures In Brazil”
I hope it will contain Norman’s edits of Rap Das Armas and Arcade Fire’s No Cars Go

Definatley worth it for Track 6 :good: ! Shame there isn’t an old Big Beat track thrown in somewhere in the middle or the end, otherwise, tracklisting looks great  .

No offence, but rubbish title for the mix.

It’s definitively pity that we don’t have a true live cd mix… of the 2009 aussie tour…
                      Indeed.. no surprises.

Huh, maybe there will be also censored title, like ‘Dance beach’ =)

Well, I’m pretty surpised and disappointed that good ol’ Willy Wonka isn’t featured on the album :bye:

And off course the Rap das Armas mix is absent too..

But I am looking forward to hear it.

                              Hey guys,

Yeah I got my copy on Monday, it’s pretty good, mainly because of the tunes but there’s not really much atmosphere to it to be honest, the mixes are either short cuts or Eric Morrillo-esque filter mixes, I think norman should stop trying to sound like Herve, Sinden, Switch, Loveys et al and do what he does best…

Massive tunes, old skool classics, Acid House anthem, massive tune, random selection, Fatboy Bootleg and then fireworks… works every time.

Having said all that I’m in no way disappointed with the CD, it’s well produced, tune selection is spot on…for a club gig, not a beach party I hasten to add… and the artwork is brilliant…

                              But…

(here comes my stupidly anal gripe section)

…The tracklisting on the back is completely wrong…

Uncredited remixes, spelling mistakes, wrong artist/title sequences…who proofs this stuff @ Southern Fried??

Come on boys…you can do better!

                              7/10 (because it’s Norman)

I couldnt agree more. Im a firm believer in ‘can’t mix won’t mix’ myself, dont really care about beat matching, timings and all that guff, just have a great ear for tunes, atmosphere and a party. Stick the tune in sideways for all i care :-D just like the early big beat sets norm did (yes im harping on about the PAST AGAIN.. but i dont want Norm to be a technical god… just the cheeky genius he already is!!)

my favourite early dj sets by the likes of Fatboy and The Chemical Brothers alwyas sounded like the best party you’ve ever been to (Norm) or the sounds of space-ships taking off and pianos being dropped down the stairs (Chems)… :-D oi oiiiiiiiiiiiii :-D

Thanks Darko and Big Beat for telling me about the mix. It’s good to see his mixes of Washing Up (which is funnily enough on the BPA LP vinyl edition), and his Lazy mash-up getting proper releases.
